So what's the Sydney Hilton really like

Most sites describe the Hilton has a five star hotel. For me a fairer rating is 4 or perhaps 4 and half stars. The big down side for me, which is the most important part of any stay is the room. The rooms are tiny by 5 star standards and the sound proofing is poor.

Facilities

The hotel has all the facilities of a top 5 star hotel.

The swimming pool hot tub and gym are all top notch. The gym is unusually large and well equipped for a hotel gym. It contains all the necessary equipment for a cardio and weights workout.

The club lounge which I was lucky enough to visit also ticks all the boxes

Restaurants and Bars

Most hotel restaurants are pretty ordinary, some are good but its a bit unusual to have a restaurant of the calibre of Glass Braserie by Luke Mangan. This for me is the stand-out feature of the hotel. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Zeta Bar provides a relaxed atmosphere to hang out during the week. On Friday and Saturday nights it turns into an upmarket club. One of the benefits of staying at the hotel is free access to Zeta Bar which has an entrance fee on the weekend.

Rooms

And now for the rooms, the big let down. Ever heard the saying it was so small you can't swing a cat. Well in the standard Hilton room you can't swing a rat. It is only 30 square meters in size including the bathroom. The room has a desk and King size bed but not much else. Sound proofing is also not great so if noise bothers you this might not be the right hotel
